Hindle sphere test
Webb20 jan. 2011 · Zygo makes fast transmission spheres. You need an f/1 test beam to test at ROC if it is indeed f/0.5. If you don't have access to that, about all you can do is test it in sections. I'd have to do the same - the fastest diverger that I creates an f/1.7 test beam, which would cover just over half of that mirror. Webb1 juli 2013 · The holographic test plate method was used to test the 1.7 m secondary mirror for the MMT [6], [7]. However, this test used a full-aperture test plate with a …

Webb4.8.6. DALL AND ROSS NULL TESTS. Dall null test uses single lens placed between light source and mirror on test, with the mirror tilted as needed to clear the lens from the path of the converging beam ( FIG. 57 ). The lens induces nearly identical amount of spherical aberration of opposite sign to that of a mirror of specified conic, making ... WebbClearly, Hindle test is limited to surfaces with usable far focus, which eliminates sphere (ε =0, near and far focus coinciding), prolate ellipsoids (1> ε >0, near and far foci on the same, concave side of the surface), paraboloid (ε =1, far focus at infinity) and hyperboloids close enough to a paraboloid to result in an impractically distant far focus.
Webbdivergers used in the tests. The actual Hindle test was done with an f/15 diverger because the f/number of the long conjugate is very slow, about f/25. The Hindle sphere however is reasonably fast and was tested using an f/2.5 diverger. Once the calibration is complete, average values for the residual astigmatism and spherical
Webbcenter of the hindle sphere to test the mirror surface. This aperture creates a "blind spot' in the test pattern corresponding to a central region of the mirror. In addi tion, the diameter of the hindle sphere must be substan tially larger than that of the hyperboloid being tested. An alternative to the hindle sphere test is the hindle shell ... Webb6 okt. 2000 · Three interferometric methods for testing the large concave spherical mirrors with long radius of curvature, the large convex spherical and flat surfaces and the large aspherical mirrors are described respectively. A number of testing results obtained with each form of interferometer are presented. Open Advanced Search.
Webb22 juli 2014 · After the Hindle sphere test for verification of alignment, as introduced in chapter 3.3, the RTV silicon rubber was injected into the gap between L1 and L1 cell. However, it is hard to inject RTV through the side holes of L1 lens cell because of L1 cone baffle structure, so that we injected the RTV directly into the gap between L1 and L1 …
